Undergraduate Advising
General Advising
The Office of Undergraduate Advisement supports all undergraduates’ transition into the Baruch community. The advising team encourages students to take advantage of the unique educational experience of being on an urban and diverse campus. The advising and orientation team is dedicated to helping students navigate college life. In partnership with our students, we provide advice and guidance helping each student pave their way towards graduation and the actualization of their educational, career and life goals.
Bearcat Peer Advisors
Bearcat Peer Advisors are dedicated to supporting First-Year and Transfer students by assisting with various academic and administrative needs. They guide FYS 1000 students in formulating a three-semester plan, demonstrate how to register for classes on CUNYfirst using the Schedule Builder, and help review and resolve holds. They clarify the differences between Business and Liberal Arts elective courses, providing examples and course options, and assist students in understanding their DegreeWorks Audit. Additionally, they explain critical policies, such as the three-time repeat and F-replacement rules, and offer information on majors and minors, including how to complete minor forms, change majors, decide on a minor, and meet prerequisites for 4000-level capstone courses. Bearcat Peer Advisors also provide details on academic appeals, campus resources, and the new Success Coaching initiative, ensuring students have the tools and knowledge to navigate their academic journey successfully.
BOSS Academic Advisors
Baruch One Stop Shop (BOSS) Academic Advisors provide comprehensive, student-centered support to help students navigate their academic journey. They offer guidance on course selection, degree requirements, and academic policies while connecting students with campus resources to ensure success. Whether it’s understanding DegreeWorks, resolving holds, or planning for graduation, BOSS Academic Advisors are committed to delivering personalized assistance in a convenient, one-stop format.
SEEK
SEEK Students: The Percy Ellis Sutton SEEK (Search for Education, Elevation and Knowledge) Program at Baruch College is designed to provide equitable higher education opportunities and college access to students who meet academic and economic requirements. Using a student success-based model, SEEK offers individualized holistic counseling and advising, rigorous academic support and a comprehensive financial aid package. SEEK is committed to enhancing the college experience for its students to ensure that they earn a college degree, thrive professionally after college, and serve as social change agents in their communities.
Honors
Honors Students: The Baruch Honors offers a comprehensive academic experience that emphasizes intellectual rigor, cultural enrichment, and community service as part of their education As part of the program, Honors students engage in five critical learning experiences: global experiences, arts and cultural exploration, leadership and service, research and creative inquiry and academic engagement. Honors students receive personalized advisement, support for experiential learning activities, priority registration, access to dedicated Honors spaces on campus, and participate in interactive Honors seminars. Honors Advisors work closely with students to explore their academic and career related interests, assist them with course selection, and connect them to unique opportunities that align with their goals.
Undergraduate International Business Coordinator
International business advisors at Baruch College specialize in guiding students pursuing careers in the global marketplace. They provide tailored advice on selecting courses that align with international business trends and degree requirements while helping students identify internship and study-abroad opportunities to enhance their global perspective. These advisors also assist with career planning, connecting students to industry networks, and preparing them for roles in multinational organizations. CPA Advisor
CPA advisors at Baruch College are dedicated to helping students pursue their goal of becoming Certified Public Accountants. They provide expert guidance on meeting the educational requirements set by the New York State Board for Public Accountancy, including how to qualify to sit for the CPA Exam. Advisors assist students in selecting the necessary coursework to meet the 120-credit-hour threshold required to sit for the exam and advise on completing the 150-credit-hour requirement for CPA licensure. They also support students in career exploration, networking with industry professionals, and securing internships to build essential skills. With their knowledge and resources, CPA advisors empower students to navigate the path to licensure and succeed in the accounting profession.
Starr Career Development Center Advisors

Marxe School of Public and International Affairs
Comprehensive advisement services are provided to students pursuing the Bachelor of Science in Public Affairs (BSPA), or the Online BSPA, and the Public Service Minor, and the accelerated Bachelor of Science in Public Affairs + Master of Public Administration degrees. Marxe has a dedicated undergraduate advisor who can help you plan your course selections, connect you to internship and study away programs, and plan for post-graduate opportunities.
Weissman School of Arts and Sciences:
Faculty advisors are available in all Weissman academic departments and interdisciplinary programs to guide students through their majors and minors and into post-graduate opportunities. Students are encouraged to meet with faculty advisors in their major and minor departments to address questions about program requirements and special opportunities, such as internships, alumni programs, and study abroad. Because faculty advisors know their discipline and departmental offerings the best, they are well equipped to help students with major or minor elective course selection, considering students’ individual goals and interests.
